The Cyprus Diaries...

Always an outsider looking in...

@LouisVuitton_HQ I was walking around Larnaca last week when I happened to walk by this shop window (see picture) and was absolutely appalled at the thought that someone could get away with selling fakes…let alone so openly!(the shop is literally just off Finikoudes)…Usually such vendors hide their ghastly merchandise…the Karama area in Dubai is notorious for hidden attics hiding their stash of the unmentionable goods…I know of many women who love going and make a huge girly date of it…I’ve been invited to join on occasion and always declined, declaring for the umpteenth time that  I DO NOT DO FAKE! I have also overheard girls give advice on which shop to go to for a good Mulberry knock-off in bar bathrooms whilst washing my hands…(cringe)…the irony here is said bathroom was at the plush sky view bar of the Address Hotel in Dubai! Terrible…
I absolutely abhor fakes and everything they represent…I simply cannot see what women find so appealing about them…especially the ones pictured…they’re so obviously fake…you can’t get more fake than that…why would anyone want to be seen carrying such a thing? It genuinely pains me when I see these horrible bags walking around here, there and everywhere…
I practically had a mini heart-attack a few weeks ago when I heard a terrible rumour claiming that the Louis Vuitton Boutique in Nicosia was apparently selling fakes and being sued for it…I had to get my Nicosia bought bag codes verified (they’re original…phew! and have asked a lawyer friend to confirm the pending lawsuits (still no word but I have a strong feeling that this is a groundless rumour and I seriously cannot stress my relief)… It was probably created by some hater who was caught with a fake and tried to justify her purchase! However I was also told by an LV employee that a factory manufacturing fakes was recently discovered and shut-down on the occupied side of Cyprus (North)…that would possibly explain the tremendous amount of fakes making their rounds all over the island… so, so, sad…Ladies please refrain from buying fakes because in essence it’s stealing, ugly and only makes you look worse…
